I trasportatori sono essenziali per le catene di montaggio, lo smistamento e il trasporto, in quanto gestiscono sia merci sfuse che pezzi. Questi trasportatori sono costituiti da rulli montati su un telaio comune, sul quale vengono spostate le merci. Le rulliere sono utilizzate nelle linee di produzione, negli impianti di smistamento postale, nei magazzini e persino nelle aree di cassa dei supermercati. Un singolo trasportatore a rulli contiene in genere decine o centinaia di rulli strettamente distanziati, alimentati da motori o dalla gravit\u00e0. Ogni rullo ruota attorno al proprio asse su due cuscinetti, la cui qualit\u00e0 determina in larga misura la longevit\u00e0 del trasportatore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ad esempio, in un impianto di smistamento postale, un solo metro di rulliera pu\u00f2 contenere 10-15 rulli, ciascuno supportato da due o tre cuscinetti.
